Ok, I’ll keep this brief…
…ha! Like I can keep ANYTHING brief! 😉
This was the message I woke up to this morning…
It’s becoming a regular thing now actually. I ask for inspiration and I always wake up with it in my head. So far I haven’t worked out how to bring the inspiration in after I’ve opened my eyes so currently the messages get scribbled into my journal or tapped into my phone as I peer through one half opened eye.
But I love the messages that come through. They are always comforting to me. Or they give me something to really think about.
And the message today was an invitation to look at how our spending habits can mirror our self-belief…or lack of it.
It’s very interesting to look at the reasons behind why we spend our money and what we are spending our money on. On the surface it is always because the thing(s) we are buying help us to feel good. Or that we truly think we NEED them…
But dig a little deeper and usually we are trying to compensate for something deeper…
We are looking to fill a void of some sort.
We want to feel like we are doing something and the purchase gives us that feeling…albeit momentarily.
But here’s the thing…
If we are doing ANYTHING from a place of believing that unless we do we are somehow less than, then disappointment will surely follow. Before long we will start to seek again for fulfilment outside of ourselves…and so the cycle goes on.
I’ve noticed in my own life that I have bought into so many programs, trainings and masterminds, which at the time I was convinced I needed. But really they weren’t supporting me or teaching me anything I needed. They were just allowing me to feel like I was DOING something.
It’s a very crafty trick the ego can play on us. That by taking the action in this way we are somehow doing enough to feel fulfilled or to call in the things we most desire.
But it’s all a distraction. It’s a distraction from the action we SHOULD be taking! And it’s rooted in fear…or the belief that we actually can’t achieve our goals.
Recently I’ve been learning to really lean into how I’m feeling when I feel compelled to take any action at all actually. I’m all for aligned action and doing what feels right but I’ve learned that my fear can masquerade as purpose! And so now when I feel compelled to do something I try to tune into WHY I am doing it.
Am I doing it because I truly feel it is the right thing, or am I doing it because I fear that if I don’t I will somehow lose.
It’s not always easy to tell but in the very least it buys me a little time to at least try and get clear on my intentions.
Because then I get to remind myself that I have a choice when it comes to what I believe.
The ego can be a powerful thing but the choice is still there when we remember to make it.
I choose to believe that we are always ok. Always supported. That there is nothing we can’t endure and overcome and that our challenges make us stronger.
Fear can and will do it’s best to try and make me forget that THIS is what I choose to believe.
I have an ace up my sleeve…
Because whilst I AM human…
And whilst I DO experience fear and uncertainty as we all do…
I am BLESSED!
I have faced my deepest fears and I’m still here! There is NOTHING I haven’t survived!
The same is true for you too by the way… 😉
So I feel like this wandered a bit from the original topic but it’s all good…ha ha!
You have unshakeable self-belief within you.
Tap into THAT and suddenly everything changes…
It’s ready when you are…
PS: I have created a new audio series called The Self-Belief Sessions.
This is a 5 part audio series which will help you to overcome fear and tap into that unshakeable self-belief that already lies within you!
I have included some awesome bonuses for you too, one of which is a guided visualisation to get you connected directly to the feeling of having increased confidence NOW!
What would unshakeable self-belief mean for you and your life?
It’s time to find out…
