I woke with a question ringing in my head a couple of days ago and I knew I was going to write a blog post about it. Usually I would write instantly but my organisation has gone out of the window since the kids broke up from school and I’ve seen days come and go where I haven’t made time for my journaling and therefore by default, my blogs!
So anyway, back to the question. It was this… “What would I do if I didn’t care what others thought about me?”. You see, I’ve had an epiphany! I’ve realised that most if not ALL of my anxiety stems from my fear of what others will think of me and the decisions I make. I realised that if their opinions truly didn’t matter to me I probably wouldn’t feel anxious about much else at all!
And there’s more too…
Often, the thing I’m worried others might think is NEVER truth either! The reason I’m so worried they will think it is because it isn’t a true representation of me or of fact! So in summary, I am anxious almost every single minute of every single day because I’m worried about other people thinking and believing things about me that aren’t even truth!
Is that not complete bullshit??!? I wonder how many others are doing the exact same thing?
How many of us are making decisions and taking action from this place of FEAR instead of from our own certainty and confidence?
Don’t you think it’s time we all stopped worrying about what others thought and instead started to focus on how we make the absolute MOST of this amazing life we get to live?
Here’s what I know…
There is ALWAYS something you can do.
There is ALWAYS a way through…maybe not a clear, easy way, but a way nonetheless.
And you DO have the answers! But perhaps you are looking for another way because the solution you’ve come up with is also bringing up this fear of what others might think of you…
So what if their opinions didn’t matter? (They don’t!)
What if you were ALWAYS supported? (You are!)
And what if you knew like you KNEW that you could absolutely count on YOU to make the right decision always and every single time? (You can!)
So I have a mini challenge for you. For the next 7 days I want you to approach every issue you currently have in your life right now with a new mindset. One that isn’t worried about the repercussions of what others will think. One that isn’t cowering in fear at every turn but instead, a mindset that is certain and SURE that you can do this! A mindset that is rooted in love and certainty and CONFIDENCE! Because I realised something else too…in order to get to the new outcome we HAVE to make some tweaks and changes along the way. This thing you’ve been struggling with for SO long? It only exists because you didn’t tweak the right thing yet. You played the fear game and look where you are! So how about trying the fearLESS game instead? How about backing yourself and DECIDING that no matter what you get to survive this? In fact even better than that, you get to THRIVE?!
